My name is Sarah. I am from Washington State, I have lived there for 18 years of my life. When I graduated from high school I left for the Navy's basic training on July 30th, 2007 in Chicago, Illinois. I graduated September 21, 2007. I then went to TPU (Temp holding unit) and when a spot for my MA "Master At Arms" A school opened up I then headed to Lackland AFB, Texas. I was there from October-December 2007 when I graduated from there. I found out my orders were to be to Manama, Bahrain. I had at that point of my life NEVER left the United States. I got to go home for 2 weeks of leave to visit my family in Seattle, WA for Christmastime. When leave was up I started my journey to Bahrain. I flew to San Antonio, TX, then to Norfolk, Virginia then made a few more stops to get to Manama, Bahrain. I was lucky enough to be stationed there with some of the people I met while in A school. I have a few friends from there who have become brothers and sisters to me, they are my family.
In May 2008 I met my now husband of 3+ years. His Marine fast team 3F3 was taking over for the current one of fast teams that were already there. He lived on the ground floor of the barracks I currently already lived in on the 2nd deck. I saw him around all the time during working hours and off duty hours. He had an amazing smile and a great personality. I finally talked to him one day when he came out from dispatch and I felt like we just clicked. After that we ran into each other again in the Desert Dome he came over to me and made his "famous" water joke to me about me only drinking water and no alcohol that night yet my best friend was.
After we worked a 3 day weekend (we had a 3-2-2-3 schedule) of 12+ hour days my friend Savannah decided to get us to go out to dinner with a friend of hers and he was going to bring a guy for me which happened to be my now husband. Ever since that night we have been stuck together through the good and the bad. I was put on Limdu for my back issues and in the end I was stationed in Bahrain for a total of 13 months and then I PCS'd to Portsmouth, Virginia.
We started dating May 16th, 2008 in Bahrain. Got engaged November 14th, 2008 in Bahrain. Then we got married February 25th, 2009 in Virginia. We then became a dual military family. A week exactly after getting married we found out we were expecting our first child. Later come June we found out the baby was a girl and she became Leanna Sky.
I had been stationed in Virginia since January 2009 to July 1st, 2009 when my husband PCS'd to Camp Lejeune, NC. He was then apart of 2/6 FOX CO 1st PLT. As of the 1st of July he started his training for his upcoming deployment to Afghanistan in the future. Our daughter was due November 1st, 2009 when I had an appointment on October 22nd, 2009 my doctor "stripped my membranes" and I had a good chance of going into labor after that in which I did that night! I had worked from 1-9pm and went home ate, showered and then got into bed at around 11pm when my contractions started. I called my then MA1 Berry to help me to the hospital since he lived in the same complex as me. I then called my husband to let him know what was going on and that I was then at the hospital getting checked. He called me back and at that time I was dilated to 2cm and I had to walk for 2 hours. He said he couldn't find the Marine on duty that night or anything so I ended up calling his Ssgt's home # and his wife picked up thankfully. My husband then started driving to VA from NC at that time around 2am. After walking for 2 hours there was no change so they sent me home yeah thats right they sent me home! Anyways when I got home I threw up and my MA1 called the labor and delivery at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. They told him to bring me back in since that was signs of hard labor. I went in and we ends up being 3 cars behind my husband who was going through the gate. He thanked my MA1 as did I and we started walking in together with a lot of stops from the pain of my contractions. They checked me once I got upstairs again and I was 6+cm dilated less then an hour after they sent me home. I finally got the epidural and then it was a waiting game from then on. We had our baby girl at 1:27pm on October 23rd, 2009 she was 9 days early. She was 6lbs 12ozs and 19.25 inches long. We got to spend 10 days with daddy during his Paternity leave.
When he went back to NC we only got to see him every weekend, holidays and during his leave time. In April 2010 he went to CAX or Mojave Viper in Cali for his Pre-Deployment training. When he got back we got to see him for a little while. A week before he was to deploy we found out that we were expecting baby #2 to our little family. I was about 6-7 weeks pregnant when he left on June 12th, 2010 for his 7 month deployment to Afghanistan.
Thats all for now more will come in time :) Thanks for anyone who listened to me ramble away!
